Case study
Challenge
The platform ran on CakePHP since 2022. In 5 years, the stack aged: dependency updates became fragile, pages loaded slowly, structured data was missing entirely, and content was not ready for AI search. Maintenance cost grew with every release. The question was not "if" we should migrate, but "when and on what stack".
Approach
Full rebuild on Next.js (App Router) + React + TypeScript. We kept the same business logic (candidates, employers, booking flows), the same URLs (zero SEO loss), and the same database. What we changed: UX restructured for conversion, rich schema (Service, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList), readiness for AI Overviews and ChatGPT search, Core Web Vitals 90+ verified in production.
Results
Core Web Vitals 90+ on key pages (verified in PageSpeed Insights). Structured data validated in Rich Results Test. Release cycle shortened from weeks to days. Maintenance cost lowered via automatic dependency updates. AI-search ready from day 1.
