A living public library of human patterns — 462 anonymized, faceless entries that grow from real readings, with a decode counter that is a mirror, not a score.
A living Codex — a library of human patterns with no author, where no one can recognize themselves yet anyone can find their pattern. The challenge was twofold: to fully separate the person from the form (every entry must read as archetypal, stripped of any identifier), and to count "how many times it was decoded" without counting people.
An architecture that keeps only the abstract form in the library — the private reading stays with the person, only the impersonal pattern travels to the Codex. The "Decoded N times" counter is a mirror, not a score: seeded from real history, computed by code (not invented), so at launch 206 of 462 patterns already had real numbers. Faceless by design: no author, no visible categories, no popularity scores.
Live at thecipher.is with 462 patterns and a real, history-seeded counter. The homepage, which shipped 2 MB of invisible content on every visit, was optimized from 68 to 98 on mobile (100 on desktop), with LCP from 5.9s to 2.1s — by measuring, not guessing.
